Overview

Spanish elegance meets California coast at the palatial Ritz-Carlton Bacara, Santa Barbara. White-washed walls and terracotta tiles, all set within 78 acres, creates a vision of a grand Mediterranean estate – a romanticized style of architecture in keeping with this corner of Southern California.

Nested just outside Santa Barbara on an alluring stretch of bluff-lined Pacific coast – also known as the American Riviera – the resort features two beaches, three infinity pools and a 42,000-sq-ft spa.

The location's pristine surroundings are definitely a pull but guests don’t need to leave the comfort of the resort to get in touch with nature. As hosts of Jean-Michel Cousteau’s Ambassadors of the Environment program, visitors can experience all that land and water have to offer with an onsite naturalist guide.

From springtime hikes to take in the resort’s wildflower bloom to oceanside explorations, kids and adults will leave feeling enlightened.

Care for the environment also runs through the resort’s culinary offering, with the fine dining eatery Angel Oak focusing on seasonal ingredients and the newly reimagined wine tasting room placing emphasis on local and sustainable producers.

When it comes to accommodation, it doesn’t get much more luxurious than The Ritz-Carlton Bacara, Santa Barbara’s Channel Islands Suite. A sprawling two-story residence spanning 3,700-sq-ft, the suite’s two master bedrooms each boast Frette linens, a fireplace and terrace.

The suite’s sprawling rooftop patio is its crowning glory and also features a fireplace as well as a lounge and dining area where sunset dinners can be enjoyed.

Suite guests also gain exclusive access to The Ritz-Carlton Bacara, Santa Barbara’s Club Lounge, a contemporary and stylish space adorned with local artworks, complete with private concierge, meals, afternoon tea and a selection of Californian wines amongst other treats.
